2. Smyrna. Polycarp was its first bishop.
3. Pergamus, renowned for its library.
4. Thyatira, now called Ak-hissar ("the White Castle").
5. Sardis, now Sart, a small village.
6. Philadelphia, now called Allah Shehr (City of God), a small town.
7. Laodicea, now a deserted place called Eski-hissar ("the Old Castle").
